Team East.
Matthew Travers
Matthew Travers plays with the Quinte Red Devils. Matt is a well rounded athlete and loves to play soccer, golf, ball hockey, and baseball in the off season. He is an avid fisher and is looking forward to going back to Labrador for some big fish as well as deep sea fishing in Florida. Matt is once again excited to represent Team East.
Emmett Zamudio
Emmett Zamudio is in his first year as a goalie for the Peterborough Petes having played with Central Ontario Wolves for both U11 and U12. Emmett started his hockey career playing for the North Durham Tyke Select team as an out skater until one day his coach said it was his turn to play net- he has not left the crease since. Emmett is known for his calm demeanour in net no matter what is happening in front of him. His favourite player is Marc-Andre Fleury and did get the opportunity to fist pump him after a game in Toronto when Fleury played for the Vegas Golden Knights. Emmett plays both field and box lacrosse in the spring/summer, basketball at school and loves to get out fishing with his grandfather. Emmett is honoured to play for Team East this year and is looking forward to exciting hockey.
Austin Pettey
Austin (Oz) Pettey is a left-shot offensive defenseman for the Quinte Red Devils. He lives in Roseneath on his family’s dairy farm and has his own roadside business, Austin’s Agricultural Adventure. His hockey idol is Sidney Crosby and he is a diehard Leaf’s fan. He loves to play hockey and baseball. Oz has enjoyed all the opportunities and friendships that hockey has allowed him to make. He is looking forward to playing for Team East for his third consecutive year.
Royce Carleton
Royce plays for the U13 AAA Peterborough Petes. He is a left shot with an offensive touch as well as being defensive minded. Last season Royce played a part in winning the GTHL Championship with the Toronto Marlboros. Royce’s team at the Future Legends Tournament, in Toronto last summer, also won the championship and Royce was named the Most Valuable Defenseman of the tournament. Royce plays lacrosse in the off season, trains, as well as works a summer job detailing vehicles. His favourite team is the Detroit Red Wings. Royce is excited to represent Team East.
Zak Walst
Zak Walst is a left handed defenseman who has played for the Peterborough Petes for the past 3 years. Prior to that he played in his hometown Norwood. Zak has been skating since he was 3 years old and his love of hockey began at an early age. Outside of hockey he plays soccer, basketball, and enjoys track and field. Zak is excited and honoured to be playing for Team East this year.
Beckett Hawthorne
Beckett is a versatile defenseman playing all 5 years with the York Simcoe Express. He is equally comfortable playing the left or right side, Quarterbacking the PP or cross checking opponents in front of the net on the PK. Thanks to his mother he is excelling at school, enrolled in the French Immersion Program in Aurora. If he’s not with his team or watching his sister play hockey, he’s playing on his school’s volleyball and basketball team. In the summer he enjoys fishing, golfing and playing rep lacrosse to stay in shape. He’s honoured and excited to be back with Team East for a second year and can’t wait to finish what they started last year bringing home a Championship!
Charlie Lucas
Charlie is a valued defenseman for the Oshawa Generals. He is proud to be representing Team East again for his 3rd season! His passion for the game can be seen both on and off the ice, as he is an advocate for skill, strength, and mental training. He is a driven player who uses his natural leadership skills to motivate and encourage his teammates. When Charlie isn't playing hockey, he enjoys all things outdoors! Biking, four-wheeling, skiing, and basketball to name a few! He continues to strive towards hopefully obtaining a Division I scholarship one day.
Tyler Martin
Tyler Martin is a right handed defenceman for the Quinte Red Devils. He lives in Belleville during the school year and goes to his other house in Lakefield in the summer and trains on his own rink at the Hockey Hotel. He is a Colorado Avalanche fan and his hockey idol is Cale Makar. Tyler loves working out with his hockey trainer Spike. On his off days he loves to play ping pong, basketball, volleyball, fishing and loves to weight train. He is very excited to represent team East.
James Gullage
James (Jimmy) Gullage is a left handed forward for the Quinte Red Devils. Jimmy loves to spend time with his family and friends, when he is away from the rink, he enjoys playing video games and fishing. He is looking forward to the summer, because he loves to be outside and by the lake. James is very honoured to be representing Team East for the first time.
Rowyn Haley
Rowyn Haley is a forward for the Quinte Red Devils. He lives in Roslin with his mom, dad and little brother. His hockey idol is Connor McDavid. He is a Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan as well as Edmonton Oilers. He loves hockey, baseball, weight lifting and bass fishing. He is looking forward to representing Team East.
Kyler Patterson
Kyler Patterson was first introduced to mini sticks in Junior Kindergarten and quickly discovered he had a strong competitive side and a great love for the game of hockey. He then enrolled in Stirling for ice hockey for a few seasons and loved to be the goalie and playing forward. He moved to Belleville and was able to play for the Belleville Jr Bulls AA team. He had many great seasons as a Jr. Bull especially the 2022-23 season where they earned five banners and won the OMHA’s. Each year Kyler kept trying to land a spot with the Quinte Red Devils AAA team and this year he was successful to make the roster as a forward for the 2023-24 season and is beyond proud to be a part of the team. Kyler has tried out for Team East a few times as well and is ecstatic that he made the team for the 2024 season. He is very proud to represent Team East and is excited to get started with his teammates. Kylers other passion is ball hockey. He has had the pleasure to play on the provincial team for several years as goalie, defense and forward and this year will be representing Team Canada. When he is not in a rink either on the ice or watching fellow hockey players, you will find him riding his bike with his friends or out on the boat doing some fishing, tubing or water skiing.
Fisher Kernohan
Fisher Kernohan first started hockey at the age of 3. As soon as he started playing he found a love for the game. Fisher is proud to be part of the Quinte Red Devils this season as a left handed forward. Fish loves to play all kinds of sports like soccer, volleyball, cross country running, lacrosse and ping pong. Other than sports Fisher loves to spend time with his sister, his friends and his dog. Fisher is so excited to be a part of team East for a second year.
Hunter Uppal
Hunter Uppal plays centre for the Greater Kingston Jr. Gaels. He is known as a strong two-way player who is just as comfortable on the power play as he is killing penalties. He is a well-rounded athlete who has always been very competitive and loves playing golf, football, baseball, basketball and lacrosse. His favourite NHL player is Nathan MacKinnon because he loves his style of play and his favourite team is the Ottawa Senators. Hunter is very excited and proud to be representing Team East this year.
Brayden Gobeil
Brayden is a centre for the Whitby Wildcats and has been with the organization since he started playing hockey. His best assets are his size and speed which he uses at both ends of the ice. Brayden did play several years of rep baseball, but decided to give it up so he would have time to enjoy other things. In the offseason, Brayden enjoys fishing, paintball, running, biking and hanging out with friends and family. Brayden is a Winnipeg Jets fan and is lucky to have met his favourite player, Cole Perfetti. Brayden is very honoured to represent Team East for the first time.
Bryce McRae
Bryce McRae lives in Hastings Ontario and plays forward for the Oshawa Generals. Since first learning to skate at the age of seven, hockey has been Bryce’s passion. His size, speed and shot are his greatest assets which gives him the ability to play both a power forward position while also being a fierce forechecker. Bryce is a well-rounded athlete who also enjoys track and field specializing in the 100 and 200 meter races. When not at a hockey rink, Bryce enjoys shooting pucks in the driveway, hanging out by our pool with family and friends, fishing, hunting and cheering on the Maple Leafs. Bryce hopes to one day use his strong academics and his athletic ability to secure his post-secondary education. Bryce is very proud to be representing Team East this summer.
Drystan Thomas
Antonio Lucente
Antonio Lucente has played forward for the Markham Waxers for the past five years. Antonio is a multi-sport athlete with a strong passion for the game of hockey. His favourite player is Auston Matthews. Antonio plays competitive soccer during the summer. When he is away from the rink, he also enjoys fishing and golf. He is very honoured to be representing Team East.
